Andrea Pape, Manager
Andrea Pape has a B.S. in Biology from UTSA. Working at Paws and Claws is not Andrea’s first experience in the pet care industry as she worked for Friendship Veterinary Center from 2002 until 2003. Growing up on a ranch, she has always had dogs and cats and she currently cares for an Akita named Paisley, an Akita/Husky named Valkyrie, and a cat named Frank. Through working at the pet resort, Andrea appreciates her opportunity to meet new people and take care of their pets, and she greatly enjoys observing the animals’ personalities as they are all very different. Working at Paws and Claws was a wonderful opportunity for Andrea to move back to her hometown to be closer to family and friends and work with pets and their owners, which she truly enjoys. In her spare time, Andrea enjoys going to the lake or river, camping, and spending time with her family, friends, and pets.
Diane M. Reiner Sodoro, Groomer
Diane Reiner Sodoro has been in the grooming business for what seems like a lifetime. After learning to groom through an apprenticeship, her first job was in a grooming shop in Chicago in 1968, where she worked as a manager for nine years. After relocating to Houston in 1976, she owned and operated her own grooming shop until 2005. By joining the Paws and Claws team, Diane is able to do what she loves (grooming) in an environment that is conducive to observing her most precious customers entrust their fur children to be looked after by the pet resort staff when they cannot. She loves working at the pet resort because the staff is kind, friendly, professional, and thorough. She appreciates the commitment the staff has to providing the very best of care for their furry customers. A lover of all breeds and species, big or small, working with animals truly touches Diane’s heart. Despite her affection for all breeds of dogs, she raised and showed toy poodles for several years, so poodles remain her favorite. When she is not grooming, Diane enjoys going to her ranch, shooting skeet, cooking, and playing volleyball.
Allison Duecker, Kennel Attendant
A rising senior at Fredericksburg High School, Allison Duecker has added working at Paws and Claws to her responsibilities as a student. Having always had pets growing up, she has gained immense experience working with and caring for animals. Despite the knowledge she has acquired from her many years as a pet owner, she enjoys constantly learning new things about animals through her work at the pet resort. Working with animals, especially those who visit Paws and Claws, never fails to make her smile. Hoping to become a Veterinary Technician, Allison’s work at the pet resort will put her one step closer to accomplishing her goal. When not going to school or working, she enjoys caring for her Black Lab, Xeena, Maltipoo, Puddles, horse, Bella, two leopard geckos, guinea pig, fish, and two cats or working with her pigs, which she exhibits in various livestock shows. Although Allison clearly has a love for pets, her favorite animal is a monkey.
Nicole Lara, Kennel Attendant
Nicole absolutely loves animals, so working at Paws and Claws is a perfect fit. She enjoys playing and cuddling with animals, especially dogs, and appreciates how cute and sweet they are. Nicole's favorite animal is a German Shephard, and she has two dogs of her own, dachshunds named Lucy and Cooper. In her spare time, she enjoys hunting, shopping, and going to the beach.
I will continue leaving our baby with you because I know that she will be in the best of hands. Thanks Again for your heart felt work that you do.
